Fanatical Republican Extremist of the Day: Vic Dabney [1]

Welcome to what is the 1228th original profile here at “Fanatical Republican Extremist of the Day”, where we’ll be discussing Vic Dabney, a now former one-term member of the South Carolina House of Representatives for District 52 of that body. He was running as a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, his anti-choice credentials that amount to Personhood from conception. Running in a solidly red state legislature district in South Carolina, he was going to be in office for the rest of his natural life as long as he didn’t stand out too much or have too volatile of opinions.



We wouldn’t be mentioning him if he kept terrible opinions to himself, of course.



While at first, nobody would pay much attention when he started to let the mask slip for how much of a bigoted moron he is, whether he was sharing Facebook posts that claimed Black Lives Matter protesters were “racist”, or that he would share nonsensical anti-socialism posts from Marjorie Taylor Greene… he eventually just got a wild hair in an uncomfortable place because hate crimes are something that are prosecuted in the United States.



And then, on April 8th, 2021, Vic Dabney left the capitol and was furious that he had to even vote no against hate crimes legislation, and decided to explain himself in a Facebook post that he wouldn’t be sharing, he’d be explaining it in his own words:

That’s uh… as racist as it gets. Ending with a “pro-hate-speech” take… Dabney was born in Sumter, South Carolina, but you read that and think he may have been born in Ft. Sumter in 1840.



Dabney was beaten in the GOP Primary for his seat in 2022, getting just 41% of the vote. We would like to wish him our finest “GOOD RIDDANCE” salutes at this time.
