PWB Peeps - Amy's Newport Mansions Mishap [1]

Have you ever heard about the mansions in Newport? They’re big!
The Breakers
Rosecliff Mansion
I will tell you more about them in a moment, but first I need to tell you something really bad that happened to me! I was in the gift shop at the Breakers mansion buying a cool tshirt. I paid using Dogecoin, which I always carry with me.
Well the shopkeeper claimed the coins were counterfeit! And called the police! And I got arrested! Thankfully, I don’t need a GoFundAmy page to cover legal fees because my hoomin dad is a masterful attorney at law and fixed the mix-up. FREEDOM!
Back to the mansions, which were called “Summer cottages” to emphasize the wealth of the owners.
Their construction was a huge competition amongst the very rich. (you have a 50-foot ceiling in your “grand salon”? Well mine is 75). In 1880-1900 Newport was THE social capital in the US. So of course I should find my way there.
Because our tour was cut short due to my temporary incarceration, we didn’t have our planned picnic/photo op. AND we missed a bunch of other mansions so we’ll be going back to Newport. I’ll let you know how it went!
