McChord Air Museum: The Twin Beech (photo diary) [1]

One of the airplanes displayed at the McChord Air Museum in Tacoma, Washington is the Beechcraft UC-45J Expeditor, commonly called the Twin Beech. The Beechcraft Model18, a civil transport plane, first flew in 1937. In 1940, the United States Army Air Force placed orders for military versions of this aircraft: UC-45 (light transport), AT-11 (trainers), and F-2 (photo survey). Nearly 1,300 were produced.

This airplane has a top speed of 225 mph, a range of 1,200 miles, and a service ceiling of 26,000 feet. It has a two-person crew and can carry six passengers.
