It has been a while. While it is hopeful, it is not certain that tender feelings have healed somewhat.
When staff layoffs took place, the Guild was ‘recognized’ but 18 months of effort left them without a contract. Unsurprisingly, some Guild members were forthright in their opinions as the two versions of events and negotiations could not be squared.
Time has passed. I presume the Guild still cannot post. I would be surprised if the long languishing contract negotiations were ongoing. It would surprise me if any of the longstanding members of DK who gleefully fought back the Guild have had a change of heart.
Do we respect workers or do we not. Do we demand they be docile or do we not.
At the time, I opted in for updates from mediaworkers.org. I’ve not seen a recent update for DK Guild but this latest link shows that contract negotiations have not disappeared everywhere.
