Let’s make this one as simple as possible for those people out there not capable of understanding complex ideas.

There are about 335 million Americans, and there were 20138 firearm murders last year. Simple concept. One murder for every 16600 citizens.

In the UK, there is about 67 million people. This is one fifth of the US population, so if having guns isn’t the driving force behind murders, they should have one fifth of the firearm murders. You expect about 4000. You would be overestimating by a factor of 6. There were 602. One shooting death for every 111000 people.

You know what? I lied.

602 was the total number of murders in the UK that year.

The number of firearm murders in the UK last year was 28. One for every 2.4 million people.

It’s the guns. Full stop.
