We hear people lament about living in “interesting times”. I get what they mean now. We’ve lived in interesting times for 8 years, since Trump descended on that escalator. I am glad that it appears he will finally face justice for the first time in his life. Up until now, it’s been civil suits he’s been able to wangle or pay his way out of. He has. now met the criminal justice system, a former war crimes prosecutor and a no-nonsense federal judge. This is his last stand and, as evidenced by his increasingly shrill truth social posts, he knows it.
As I write this, Fani Willis has subpoenaed additional witness before the Fulton County grand jury. Perhaps this is the clean up loose ends stage of the indictment process.

Many legal experts expect an indictment out of Fulton County within the next few weeks. Roads are barricaded and Willis herself stated in a recent interview that she was “ready to go”.

Perhaps the witnesses going into the GJ now are for another related case? We’ll see.
Next up, is the interesting battles Special Counsel Jack Smith is involved in between the Florida and DC indictments. Up until this latest indictment, I was under the impression that his new lawyer, John Lauro, was more serious than those in the past. I was disabused of that notion after he did his “full Ginsberg” on Sunday instead of answering the Court as directed. The tried to get a delay, but Judge Chutkan was having none of it. This is some satisfying reading! And if you haven’t yet, do read the DC indictment. It’s 45 pages and very easy to read. I read it in 90 minutes. It basically tells the story of the efforts to get the fake electors counted and those involved. You know SC Smith has the goods when you read this. Why else would Trump’s lawyers want this case tried in the media as well as delayed, delayed, delayed. They want that because even they know he and his co-conspirators are guilty as sin. If you would rather not read the indictment, there is this reading of it by Ali Velshi that is really good.

I feel like it’s incumbent on all Americans to either read or listen to this indictment. If you have family or friends on the fence or not in the know, send them the link to this reading. I’m sure there are MAGA people who will NEVER come around, but there are Republicans who voted for Trump in 2020 just because he had an (R) after his name. Hopefully, this will wake the majority of those people up.
So that’s it for now. As I write this, voters in Ohio are going to the polls on Issue 1. A sneaky election shoved onto the calendar by the Ohio GOP majority legislature to true to thwart the November abortion vote. They know they will lose in November, so why not try to rig it now. I hope as you are reading this on Wednesday morning, we have good news out of Ohio that this horrible thing did not pass.
