A Conservative Friend Insists Donald Trump Is Not Racist! What Are The Facts? [1]

Donald Trump is seeking the White Hose for the second time amid a flood of indictments. During Team Trump’s Big Lie that the election was stolen, Trump was attempting to frequently challenge the efficacy of black voters. Now, as Erika D. Smith wrote recently in the Los Angeles Times, “While in the White House, Trump was a man who unleashed and normalized a new wave of hate against many communities, but particularly against Black Americans.”
Over the years Trump has stated, that he is “the least racist person that you have ever encountered.” Smith noted that “ It’s because of him that we now have state legislatures full of newly emboldened MAGA Republicans who are passing laws to whitewash history lessons on slavery in public schools, who are targeting diversity and equity initiatives, and who are banning books with even the slightest mention of race or racism.”
A recent Yahoo News/YouGov poll found that Donald Trump voters believe that racism against white Americans has become a bigger problem than racism against Black Americans.
A conservative friend maintains that Donald Trump is not a racist. In an email, he cited several of his accomplishments related to race. He then pointed out that some African American preachers support him. My conservative friend had little to say about Trump being the leading voice of the “birther” conspiracy that baselessly claimed former President Barack Obama was from Africa and not an American citizen.
