Music of 1996: I post a few songs, you post a lot. Ha! [1]

Well, 1996 was a pretty good year, seems to me. I found so many songs I truly like.
Here is the link to the list I used:
en.wikipedia.org/…
Let’s dive in:
Ace of Base, at number 94:
It is a beautiful life, while listening to such a nice song.
Metallica, at number 92:
That guitar hook has me hooked.
Toni Braxton, at number 81:
So powerful.
So powerful.
It makes me cry.
I know, it’s just a song, it’s not that serious, as my late wife, Tonia, would often say.
Since she died, a year and a half ago, I cry way too easy.
Next song!
Sheryl Crow, at number 75:
I do not understand the lyrics, I do not understand the video.
But the song is like an old friend. That is why I am doing this diary series, to check in on my old friends.
Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen, at number 66:
I like secret agent stories, because truth is stranger than fiction, and more interesting than fiction.
And in the real world, there are lots and lots of secret agents. The American secret agents did not like Donald Trump. During his time in office, they reported to Mike Pompeo, from Wichita, Kansas (my current hometown). Mike Pompeo, in the real world, had been, maybe, a secret agent, working for the U. S. Army. So, he understood the secret agents, and they knew that.
I know, there is a long list of things to hate, about Mike Pompeo. But at least he was a smart adult, unlike Trump, so the secret agents had a smart adult to report their information to. The world did not go into all-out war during the time Mike Pompeo was managing the world.
I spent a lot of time in the sixties and seventies hearing this song:
Interesting, to compare the two songs.
Hootie and the Blowfish, at number 50:
So smooth, so nice.
The Smashing Pumpkins, at number 44:
Another old friend, so smooth so nice. I keep typing those words, because they are true.
Blackstreet, featuring Dr. Dre and Queen Pen, at number 42:
The YouTube algorithm, or whatever, suggested this song to me, months ago. Maybe because of me watching Usher, at that time. I thought this No Diggity song was more modern than 1996! I truly like it.
And I like the overalls. I have overalls myself. I have worn them for years, off and on.
Goo Goo Dolls, at number 24:
I feel the need to write those words, again: an old friend, so smooth, so nice.
Eric Clapton, at number 19:
If I could change the world, I would have everyone listening, with me, to songs like this.
Celine Dion, at number 18:
Such an over-the-top, grand type of song. It’s almost too much, but it dominated the radio, back in the day, so I had to post it.
Los Del Rio, at number 98:
Los Del Rio, at number 1:
Okay, your turn.
I did not listen to any of the songs at numbers 4 through 16. They all look interesting, but I do not recall any of the titles, and I am typing this at 2 AM on Sunday morning. I need to do other things online, take a shower, and go to bed.
So, go and listen to those songs, numbers 4 through 16, and post any of them that you like, in the comments. That is your mission, if you choose to accept it. (Mission Impossible reference!)

Post away!
