More Russian stuff blowing up, plus the mystery of the Kerch bridge attack remains unsolved [1]

It’s been a day since the Kerch bridge was reported to have been attacked by aerial and naval drones and unlike other attacks — not a single photo or video has appears to document that either the bridge was hit or the attack missed.

Nothing.

In a war where we are used to have a front-row seat, this is unusual. It may be Russia cracking down on its bloggers or restricting ship access to the bridge or simply that no traffic is allowed on the bridge so there is no one to video it as they drive by.

Whatever the reason, eventually there will be something — satellite photos at least — to show what did or did not happen.

Until then it’s just frustrating.

This University of Economics and Trade building in the city of Donetsk was hit and burned. Russians claimed Ukraine used cluster munitions. The university reportedly relocated to Kryvyi Rih after 2014.

The pro-Russia folks are clutching their pearls over this, claiming it’s the most horrible war crime ever committed, blah, blah, blah.

Great shot on a moving tank.

Meanwhile, Russia bombed a blood transfusion center in Kupiansk.

I will add for those who follow these things that the terminal deployment of the Ukrainian marine drones has changed based on recent images of attacks on the tanker and the BDK. Previously, they would maneuver alongside the target ship beam to beam before detonating the explosive payload. In this and yesterday's videos of the drone attacks, the USV's struck both targets bow on. This may indicate the use of a contact device versus an operator initiated command to detonate the explosives. It may also evidence a change in the type of warhead being used from a large quantity of HE (Semtex or similar) to a more conventional anti-ship weapon like a small torpedo (VLWT or similar). If this is the case, the USV's could be kitted for both capabilities - one for ships and one for other fixed targets like bridges.

Seems fitting.

Switzerland shames itself again.

Even in a city as heavily shelled by Russia as Avdiivka, Ukrainians find ways to feed the dogs and cats left behind.

x This is Avdiivka, look how it is there now, under constant shelling by the occupants. People still live there who cannot evacuate. There are a lot of starving animals.
