Magistrate Judge Moxila Upadhyaya, during trump’s arraignment hearing today, said - "Your most important condition of release is that you not commit a state, federal or local offense. If so, your release may be revoked. You may also face a longer sentence for having committed a crime while on release.”
She told Trump that it is a crime to "influence a juror or try to threaten or bribe a witness or retaliate against anyone" connected to the case.

Most judges do not use such harsh words as the most important condition of release against defendants, let alone a former president.
In fact, Judge Upadhyaya did not address trump as President or former President, she addressed him as Mr. trump!

Judge Upadhyaya: "Good afternoon, Mr. Trump."

x In discussing the conditions of Trump's release, Judge Upadhyaya warns him against discussing the cases with any witnesses.
"The defendant must not communicate about the facts of the case to individuals known to be a witness except through counsel or in the presence of counsel." — Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) August 3, 2023
The first hearing in the case is set for Aug. 28 at 10 a.m. EDT.
Judge Upadhyaya is an Indian-born U.S. citizen, raised near Kansas City, Missouri.
From abcnews.go.com/… -
Upadhyaya was born in Gujarat, India, and raised near Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Missouri and went on to receive her law degree from American University, Washington College of Law. After law school, Upadhyaya clerked for two years for the Honorable Eric Washington, former chief judge of the D.C. Court of Appeals, then joined the law firm Venable LLP where she practiced complex commercial and administrative litigation. Through her pro bono practice, which was focused on representing indigent clients in post-conviction proceedings, Venable named Upadhyaya its Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year in 2006 and the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project awarded her its Defender of Innocence Award in 2009.
Let’s see if trump will be trump, using his despicable techniques to attack judges, prosecutors, witnesses and administration officials. What’s the chance that this serial criminal won’t be committing new crimes? And if he does, then what?
Happy trump arraignment day (there are 3 per year, so far).
