As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

Happy Friday! It’s been a pretty busy week. Nizz has had woundcare three times this week, and OT on Thursday. Wednesday Bit and I went shopping, she bought me some new clothes, and we got Sophie a bed because these floors are harder than the ones at the old house, and we got some cat toys, and an electric screwdriver. I had woundcare on Thursday. So it’s been a week.

IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

One month in the new house! So we’re still getting settled, but we’re getting the tools we need to get things more settled. Hopefully tomorrow or Saturday we can get the bookcase fastened to the wall so we can unpack books. I also got wood screws so I can try to get a bookcase out of my broken apart bookcase pieces.

I also still have some pictures and such to hang, but we’re getting there, slowly. I’m not rushing at this point. But, my wound care has been moved to every 3 weeks for now, so I may not be juggling an appointment for me every week so maybe I’ll have more spoons to spend unpacking.

We were going to get a mower from Walmart, but they only had one on the floor, and it was gas powered. I really don’t want to be messing with gas. So, we ordered a chargeable electric one on the Walmart site, and it will be delivered on Tuesday. And it was on sale, so yay.

Some stupid lady in Florida is trying to get an Arthur (PBS) picture book banned, so I looked it up to see what the hubub is. Apparently, there’s mention of spin the bottle. Just mention, and a picture of a bottle. I’ll post the read aloud from Youtube below.

I don’t see what the big deal is. My kids loved Arthur. I thought maybe the book had something to do with their teacher’s wedding to another male, (which I still don’t see what the big deal is, but I expect them to think it is one) but no. It’s not that book. It’s this one. <insert eye roll here>
