Itzl Alert Network: Tuesday, 1st of August, 2023: Keep your router cool. Ha! [1]

About six hours ago, at about 6 PM, my internet router was not routing the internet to my computer.
Hours later, I called aaz, to ask her to post an open thread for you, my Itzl friends.
Then I got the router to work.
I called her back so she could cancel her open thread diary.
So, here we are.
Ha!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at, to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off Daily Kos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on Daily Kos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news! This is our current schedule of regular IAN diary writers: Monday: Youffraita Tuesday: bigjacbigjacbigjac Wednesday: Pam from Calif Thursday: art ah zen Friday: FloridaSNMOM Saturday: FloridaSNDad Sunday: loggersbrat
How did I get it to finally work?
Well, you know that correlation is not causation, but, as I kept pressing the reset button, over and over, at least five times, maybe ten times, I noticed the router was hot to the touch.
I moved my little tabletop fan over where I could aim it at the router, and then, after one or two more tries, it worked!
So, maybe it was overheating.
Anyway.
Here is a nice song from my Music of 1995 diary, posted Sunday:
Great dance music, seems to me.
A few hours ago, at around 6 PM, while my internet was down, I called my sister-in-law, Ratana, to get a ride to Lowes, so I could buy a solid steel rod, to finish my installation of the smaller, 5,000 BTU window A/C unit, in my bedroom, which is a guest room. That way, if she and her husband have a loss of electricity at their home, in the hot summertime, she and her family can come here, and use my guest room.
Yay!
Towards the end of the trip, after I got the metal rod, and was on my way home, I got hugs from:
Terrell
Ratana
Isabella, 6 years old
Gabriella, 2 years old
Jermaine, Terrell’s cousin
Nice.
I am munching on my latest batch of minestrone stew. It is truly outstanding.
Time to get out my chocolate triple fudge brownie ice cream.
After eating a few bites of that, maybe I should work on my dirty dishes. I will not tell you how many days they have been sitting in the sink. Ha!
Well, take care of yourselves and each other, and keep cool, and keep your routers cool.
Ha!
And eat chocolate ice cream.
And do the dishes already!
Hugs!
