Magic Thumb Tip [1]

You know how you can find anything on the internet? I mean anything? Once the baffle between my refrigerator’s french doors broke and within two minutes I found dozens of videos on YouTube with repairpeople showing me how to replace it. Same for when I turned my lawnmower’s key twice successively accidentally and snapped the starter rod. That sounds complicated but I know that’s what I did because I looked it up on the internet. I recently read where an IT guy for some company said 75% of his fixes come from watching YouTube how-to videos other people post. It’s kind of awesome and what I think represents the best of the internet.
You know how every once in a while you search for something on the internet and just can’t get the results you want? I mean not even close? This has happened to me several times but I can’t remember any specific examples to share so I’ll jump right in to what happened to me just now.
They say you can be anonymous on the internet and that’s what can bring out both the best and worst of people, but that’s horseshit. I’m not telling you a damn thing about myself because I don’t trust any of you. However this story is I think important so I’ll share a little.
I like science and I like magic; the two are intertwined. Magic is science. So I’m working on a lesson to develop this concept and stumble upon the Magic Thumb Tip. Brilliant. You put a fake thumb tip with a delicate silk tissue stuffed into it over your real thumb tip. Picture attached. That leads to magic which you can look up if you want to explore it further.
It’s embarrassing to do this trick, however, when the kids you show it to are like super-excited about learning how to do it themselves and you give them the thumb tip and silk tissue and they meticulously stuff the silk tissue into the thumbtip just like they saw you do it and you’re so impressed they actually paid attention this time then you look and the Magic Thumb Tip is a stark contrast of Crayola Nude against their Black skin. They save you, like they always do, by being kids and seriously not caring. It’s kind of awesome and I think what represents the best of people.
Tonight I’m bored and have been meaning to do this so I went to a shopping site and searched for “Black Skin Magic Thumb Tip,” “Dark Magic Thumb Tip,” “Brown Magic Thumb Tip,” and so on and so on. Then I went to this thing that looks up what you want to know and tried the same terms. And so on. The results were consistent.
Black Magic Thumb Tips, according to the Internet
I’ve tried everything and have not found one lead to a Magic Thumb Tip I can share with Black youth that allows them to practice magic tricks without a tell.
I don’t know really what I’m asking for. Nothing I guess, I just want to share how frustrating this is. If you come across something that would be amazing but I haven’t decided if I’m going to read the comments yet or not because that’s a lot of work and interaction but I would like a solution or pressure at least put on the people making Magic Thumb Tips.
Thanks.
