Ha!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at, to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off Daily Kos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on Daily Kos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news! This is our current schedule of regular IAN diary writers: Monday: Youffraita Tuesday: bigjacbigjacbigjac Wednesday: Pam from Calif Thursday: art ah zen Friday: FloridaSNMOM Saturday: FloridaSNDad Sunday: loggersbrat
I need to read my owner’s manual for my new video camera, so I can start recording videos, and posting them on YouTube, and then I can copy and paste, from there to here.
But, until then, I will keep describing things.
My tomatoes are going wild! Two days in a row, I got nine or ten ripe tomatoes each day. Only two more today.
My cucumbers are slower, but they will come along soon.
I will now interrupt my typing, to work on my dirty dishes, and work on making more tomato juice.
Okay, I rinsed and cut up 3 large tomatoes and 4 small ones, put them in the blender, then added the tomato juice from yesterday. I had too much salt in that batch, so, all these tomatoes added should water it down. I added another 1/8th of my habanero, just for fun.
Then, I washed up a big load of dishes.
Then, I made fresh dish water, and put in three quart sized mason jars, to wash. I need two of those, to put my tomato juice in.
Then I went for a nice walk, through a neighborhood I never visited before. Nice looking ranch style homes. I was gone almost an hour, from 8:40 PM to 9:25PM, the twilight time. I am back now. I will put away that batch of dishes that are in the drainboard, and wash those jars, and put more jars in to wash. Then I will taste the tomato juice.
You can listen to this, while I am gone:
Okay, I washed and rinsed the three jars, and tasted my tomato juice. Great! Still plenty salty enough. I have three large tomatoes on the window ledge, to ripen a little more. Maybe I will add those to the batch, tomorrow.
I emptied the blender pitcher, and it filled one jar and half the next one. I sipped some big sips, and put the jars in the fridge. So nice, to have my tomato harvest, so far, safely in the fridge. The first six or more tomatoes, I diced and salted and ate. Using the blender, to make the tomatoes into juice, is better, seems to me. And the habanero makes it spicy, like bloody Mary mix:

Mr & Mrs T Original Bloody Mary Mix, 59.2 fl oz, Bottle $6.98
Back when I enjoyed beer and tomato juice, I copied this bloody Mary mix, using tomato paste, and adding the spices, (rather than spend $7), and added beer. Tomorrow, I may add a little Worcestershire sauce to my tomato juice mix. Maybe black strap molasses, as well.
I got some positive feedback about the population report I posted last week, so, I think I will see how the population has changed, in the last week:
India, up by 281,000.
China, down by 10,624.
USA, up by 39,119.
Indonesia, up by 48,666.
Russia, down by 10,528.
Mexico, up by 20,066.
Japan, down by 14,344.
Germany, down by 910.
Our grand total is:
8,050,179,965.
While typing that, it became:
8,050,180,140.
I forgot to post that grand total last week. If I am in the mood, I might post the new total next week.
Here is a song from my Music of 1994 diary:
And, here is a bluegrass cover of that song, by Dolly Parton:
Okay, take care of yourselves, and each other. And drink spicy tomato juice, home grown, if you have the veggie garden.
Hugs!
