The REAL Fraudsters: The Republican Conspiracy to Rig the Vote (PART II) [1]

This weekend, another excellent article by Thom Hartmann clearly laid out the insidious and systematic Republican plan to supplant democracy with an authoritarian state based upon elements of fascism.
In his article, “How Democracy Dies the First Month...”, Hartman spells out what has played out so far, how the death of democracy will unfold, and what's at stake for the rest of us. In it he writes:
..they are systematically destroying American democracy with the clear objective of replacing it with strongman authoritarianism... Trump’s supporters are today openly calling for the end of democracy, for book banning, and for public executions of Democratic politicians. They are building their power and their organizations right now; armed paramilitary groups are expanding across the country... And they’re packing our courts with young, hardcore rightwing ideologues in state after state...
He adds,
Unless we stop them in-process, this will be our last chance. Because once they take power — if they win in November 2024 — it will be just a matter of weeks before they’ve consolidated their power and locked the country down.
Seems to me, nothing could be any CLEARER. Democracy IS at stake. Donald Trump and his... party have made that quite evident in what they are saying and in what they have done. They are TELLING US, to our faces, what they plan on doing.
And only the POWER OF OUR VOTE stands in their way. Which is precisely why they are working so hard to RIG the vote.
They are doing so via voter suppression efforts and voter purges,
Georgia plans to purge 191,000 inactive voters from voter rolls
GA to Purge Nearly 200,000 Voters; AL Legislature Ignores SCOTUS Redistricting Order
via installing partisan right wing election deniers in positions of power,
The election-denying Republicans who aided Trump’s ‘big lie’ and got promoted
Wisconsin Elections Commission member bragged about GOP plan to suppress Milwaukee votes
via power grabs that give them control of the election process in heavily blue municipalities,
Texas Senate passes bill to allow secretary of state to overturn Harris County elections
and via ignoring even Supreme Court rulings against their racist, state-level gerrymandering.
Alabama Republicans refuse to draw a second Black congressional district in defiance of Supreme Court
Of late they have reportedly begun massive efforts to promote mail in and absentee voting among their constituents, reversing their previous position and false accusations of "fraudulent" activity associated with it, no doubt having come to the realization that they'd shot themselves in the foot by demonizing a voting method their party had been benefiting from for decades.
“They’re hypocrites”: Republicans now funding the same voting methods they demonized under Trump
Only, they don't want EVERYONE to vote that way. For instance, In Florida, DeSantis and his GOP have gone so far as to cancel outstanding requests for mail in and absentee voting, an action based upon a law they gleefully enacted to disproportionately impact their opposition.
Democrats scramble to reach voters after Florida cancels mail-in ballot requests
While in other states, they are working on laws designed to disenfranchise and suppress the rights of younger voters.
Republican-controlled states target college students’ voting power ahead of high-stakes 2024 elections
When it comes to mail in and absentee ballots, they now want to make it easier to vote, but only for THEIR voters.
This IS the right winged assault upon democracy. Happening in real time, as we speak. Which is WHY this and the next year may very well be our very LAST chance.
The BOTTOM LINE being, If ALL of us don't vote in each and EVERY election FROM THIS POINT ONWARD, we may as well forget democracy in this country. Period.
