Dear Respondents,
Thank you for your many questions for my first ‘Ask Amy’ diary! I feel really glad that I can enlighten and add to the happiness that Hoomins experience.
Without further ado,
Dear Amy,
So we understand that you live on Cape Cod. Aren’t there lots of sharks there?
signed, Curiouser
Dear Curiouser,
There sure are! Take a look for yourself:
My hoomin family lives where the red heart is drawn though. Shark-free! (crossing my paws) Buuut, sharks eat seals. Seals bark. I bark! So, I’m going to remain vigilant.
And even though I’m pretty safe from sharks, I figured I should practice my self-defense just in case!
Help! Gemme outta here!
Dear Amy,
I recall you telling us that your sister was also in the big metal box headed to New England from Alabama. What became of her?
signed, Careful Listener
Dear Listener,
Funny you should mention her! She reached out to me last week on Dogbook.
She said her hoomin family lives in a place called Maine. And boy oh boy she went on and on about how perfect she and her life are! And she also told me she is a famous “Pupfluencer”. I believed maybe half of everything she said. Since, you know, everyone exaggerates on Dogbook!
Dear Amy,
What is your marginal income tax rate?
signed, Certified Pup Accountant
Dear CPA,
That’s confidential! But I will provide a clue — My splendid existence is one amazing net-of-tax adventure after another. :)
Dear Amy,
I understand that the Native American Wampanoag Tribe lives there on Cape Cod. I learned in school that the Wampanoag were involved in the “first Thanksgiving”. And that they taught the Pilgrims how to grow corn by planting a dead fish with the seeds, and that the Pilgrims taught them how to die from Smallpox. Is this true?
signed, History Buff
Dear Buff,
Yes.
mmmm...Pestilence! nom nom
Dear Amy,
Why do my dogs have to be so hairy if they’re just going to throw the hair all over the house?
signed, plain truth
Dear truth,
I think it’s a self-preservation mechanism. Hoomins have shown that they prefer fluffy pups. And it doesn’t seem to matter to them if the fluffy pups excrete (cough, cough *shed*) huge tumbleweeds of fur. Also, I should add that Hoomins tend to overlook adoptable black dogs. Well that’s 2 strikes against me.
Somehow, I think I’ll be fine. ;)
Thanks everyone! And keep those questions coming; I’ll be back with another ‘Ask Amy’ column next month.
Have a great weekend!
Yours truly in service to all which is good,
Amy
