American conservatives have been grooming America’s children for our entire history. Their ability to do so is a big part of why America hasn’t changed as much as it needs to.
As with most things conservative, when they run out of excuses, when people start to see who they really are, they accuse the rest of us of their crimes.
America’s conservative religious groups are the most prolific of child rapists in our country. And they protect their own and keep their rapists’ secrets. Once everyone started to see in the news what conservative Baptist communities and conservative Catholic communities have been doing, these same conservative Christians started talking about grooming.
American conservatives groom children to be bigots. That’s child abuse by the way, always has been.
They groom children to think black people are violent, lazy, ugly, and less intelligent.
They groom children to think Mexicans and Central Americans are invaders who will only take from their communities and rape white women.
They groom children to think women’s rights advocates are murderers.
They groom children to think members of the LGBT community are evil and engaging in the devil’s work.
They groom children to be selfish and to withhold effective aid to the suffering.
They groom children to worship the almighty dollar.
They groom children to believe sweeping the unhoused under the carpet so they aren’t visible is acceptable, instead of providing real housing options.
American conservatives traffic the children of Native Americans and other groups of color, seeking to erase from them their own culture and identity via largescale adoption, fostering, and overseas mission programs.
They kidnap LGBT kids and send them to detention camps in order to try to erase their identities too.
They groom children to uncaringly infect others with deadly diseases.
They groom children to destroy their own planet.
They groom children to worship weapons of death.
Conservative Americans, and specifically conservative Christians have always been the most vile groomers. They’ve only just recently realized that everyone else has finally caught on to who they are, so they’re reflexively projecting it onto everyone else.
It’s not really all that complicated.
