I just read that Elon Musk ‘doesn’t know what the hell is going on’ with the economy. Well, I know exactly what is going on. And I’m happy to enlighten everyone. Here it is... Rich people have way WAY WAY too much money, power, and influence in society. And the changes they have made to our world economic model, along with the resulting damage, have led to constant instability. It threatens all of our well-being on a daily basis, even theirs. But they’re too arrogant, and self-assured, to even see it happening.
These are the same self-proclaimed geniuses who refined their lust for money into the ‘just in time’ model. Plan to keep a business (or an economy, if applied on a macro scale) always on the edge of failure, with no contingency plan, in order to consistently bleed out as much profits as possible for those who hold the reins.
And then keep squeezing everyone beneath them, making life ever more insufferable, like it’s some sort of game. Pushing the rest of us just to the edge of the breaking point.
They’ve also dismantled, or significantly weakened, government’s ability to put the economy back on track when things start to get iffy, because that’s what is best for them and their endless accumulation of wealth, everyone else be damned.
Honestly, Musk, and his billionaire buddies, are f**king idiots. It’s obvious, and right in front of all of us. They got greedy and took way too much and continue to stand in the way, over and over again, when anyone reasonable tries to change or fix the paradigm.
Now that global warming is starting to kick in, things are going to get more and more intense, and unpredictable. And society, with its ‘societal contract’ becoming ever more tenuous by the day, is starting to fray at the edges. Whatever ivory tower they think they have isn’t going to save them, regardless of what they believe. I see pitchforks and torches in their future before it all completely falls apart. And as it stands, they only have themselves to blame.
In my opinion, the best course for oligarchs like Musk at this point would be to admit they have no idea what they’re doing, other than feeding their own personal ego and greed, and open up the floor to people who are actually trying to offer potential solutions. Those people might find a path toward fixing our vastly unbalanced system, which would then bring back a degree of economic stability.
Finally, I suggest that Musk take that one way voyage to Mars, and soon. Lord knows he doesn’t have a clue how to fix anything on this planet, and we’d all be better off if we didn’t have to hear his asinine opinions anymore.
