China Flips US The Bird on Global Warming [1]

China in talks with John Kerry our Global Warming Guru agreed to nothing. Said they’d go their own route. All the meanwhile their use of coal is only increasing as is their carbon footprint. China emits a third of greenhouse gasses in the world.
If you prefer to feel guilty per capita we are probably going to be far out in front of them, but feeling guilty won’t stop China from making electricity with coal. They opened about 2 new coal plants every week in 22. Makes Joe Manchin look like a tree hugger.
China is also the world’s leader in renewables, won’t suck that CO2 back out of the air though.
I usually ignore anything climate related, I’m a cynic, I know what’s up and I’d rather not. I just happened to see the link to the NYT article on Kerry's unsuccessful talks with China. No paywall
I used to think reducing my footprint to near zero was a help, then I noticed no one else was. Then I figured government would sort it out. Now I know it has to come from countries working together, when they aren’t invading each other that is. All of South and East Asia is a lot of people, and they all want air conditioning and an electric bike.
What I’d like… Heavy carbon tariffs. We can make stuff powering with renewables and nukes if we really wanted to. Bring jobs back too.
