The discussions in many recent diaries pose a difficult question — How do we express and communicate outrage at what Republicans are doing without sinking to their level; without dehumanizing them as they do to us and our allies?

Here’s one suggestion:

Republican polices are severely damaging our country and its people, causing sickness, injury and death, while mainstream media treats it as business as usual.

“Is it dehumanizing to say Republican Policies are killing us?”

Here is a non-exhaustive list of lethal Republican policies:

Climate change: Heat waves alone are killing dozens all over the country, including 13 people in Texas last month. Flooding, power outages, climate-related disease and other factors are increasing the death toll. Republicans oppose any action to stop the deaths.

Abortion and Reproductive Freedom: Mothers and babies dying during pregnancy, at birth or postpartum are much higher in states that currently ban or restrict abortions. Mothers and babies dying during pregnancy, at birth or postpartum

Assaults on the ACA and Medicaid: States that have refused to expand Medicaid have had materially higher mortality rates from a variety of causes and, for example, increased postpartum hospitalization. Had ACA Repeal succeeded in 2017, tens of thousands or even more deaths would have occurred.

Immigration: Ninety percent or more of nurses, aides and (increasingly), doctors are immigrants. Draconian Republican immigration restrictions will impair treatment and harm or even kill many,

Homophobia and Transphobia: Gay and trans or non-binary people have died in mass murders like at the Club Q in Colorado and in incidents all over the country.

Insurrection: Five died on January 6. Four officers committed suicide shortly thereafter. The leading Republican candidates will or will consider pardoning these perpetrators.

Feel free to add to the lis tin the comments.

So Is it dehumanizing to say Republican Policies are killing us?
