On this date in 2021, as well as 2022, “Fanatical Republican Extremist of the Day” first profiled Rob Chase, who won election to the Washington House of Representatives, currently serving District 4 of that body, but that’s only because he pulled out of the 2020 GOP Primary for Washington’s 5th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives after he realized he had no chance of beating Cathy McMorris-Rodgers. Thus, he is yet another one of the Republicans we’ll be profiling who meeting the criteria of the center of a Venn diagram that consists of “ran for Congress in 2020 as a Republican” and “Qanon conspiracy theory supporter”.

Yes, when the seat being vacated by Matt Shea, who was being investigated for domestic terrorism, became available, Shea found himself the most bats*** conspiracy theorist he could to endorse to fill his shoes, and it was Rob Chase. Chase frequently posted on social media about forthcoming Qanon posts, and kept encouraging his own followers to get on board with Qanon posts. He repeatedly posted the QAnon slogan and at one point, wrote a blog post that described QAnon as part of a “[I]battle that's been going on at least a few hundred years[I]” where “patriots” like Donald Trump were trying to thwart some sort of “an ongoing plan by the Deep State to destroy America, because that is the only way they can establish a Global New World Order.”

Among the other conspiracy theories that Chase casually supports:

And being an ally of Matt Shea, it should come as little surprise that Rob Chase also supports his insane plan to have the eastern part of Washington state to secede from the rest and form its own state, Liberty.

Chase’s voting record as a legislator is pretty basically summed up as being an obstructive pest, where he’ll vote against even the most common sense legislation, like banning police chokeholds or “no knock” warrants, requiring that law enforcement provide attorneys to juveniles they have in custody, or that criminal activity like stalking or domestic abuse should qualify for women being able to get orders of protection.

In spite of all that, Rob Chase only lost the GOP Primary in 2022 by about 300 votes. We would like to wish him our heartiest “GOOD RIDDANCE” salutes at this time, and hope he never emerges to run for office again.
