Howdy all! I apologize in advance for this diary being a short one heavy on current event news. I arrived home from the airport at 1:30am this morning and a short 5 hours later had a cat batting me in the face to get up an feed her. Working on 5 hours sleep is not a norm for me.

So let’s see what I can talk about… nothing really happening, huh? I jest!

The GOP and Comer’s “whistleblower” turns out to be spying for China and Iran. And not only on us, but on Israel too. He is now on the lam from DOJ indictments. Did the GOP Congresspeople know about this?

x Chairman @RepJamesComer’s “very credible witness” was just indicted for arms trafficking, violating U.S. sanctions against Iran, making false statements, and being an unregistered foreign agent for China.

This is who the House GOP is relying upon for their baseless allegations. https://t.co/Z8NuCsBQaU — Daniel Goldman (@danielsgoldman) July 11, 2023

It also involves a ex-senior Trump advisor too…

x The ex-senior Trump adviser dubbed "Individual-1" in the indictment of the alleged Hunter Biden "whistle-blower" appears to be ex-CIA chief Jim Woolsey.

Compare the indictment's quote with Woolsey's remarks quoted in China Daily.

It appears the GOP is now wholly owned by Russia and China. This is a sad state of affairs in our politics. We need at least two strong, viable parties on the side of democracy in this country. GOP is full on authoritarian now. Even my late dad, who was super conservative, would be backing away from the party now.

Next up, Fani Willis has a new grand jury seated in Fulton County today. This meshes with her timeline of indicting in the fake electors/attempt to overturn the 2020 election case.

x The Georgia grand jury that is expected to consider charges against Donald Trump and his Republican allies' efforts to overturn the 2020 election was formally sworn in Tuesday afternoon after a three-hour selection process in Atlanta, per @MarshallCohen. — Kaitlan Collins (@kaitlancollins) July 11, 2023

DC grand jury is also meeting again. Could there be more DOJ charges coming soon?

x The grand jury investigating efforts to stop the peaceful transfer of presidential power appears to be meeting at the Prettyman federal courthouse once again.

Per @dnlbrns, Thomas Windom (one of the special counsel's lead investigators) is in the building. — Ryan J. Reilly (@ryanjreilly) July 11, 2023

Tommy Tuberville became even more reprehensible this weekend. He either played dumb, or is dumb, on the definition of white nationalist. Watching his CNN appearance he seems to intimate that white nationalists are patriotic Americans and if we’re against them, we’re against white people. Huh??? Luckily Kaitlin Collins pushed back.

x Tuberville: My opinion of a white nationalist.. it’s an American. If that white nationalist is a racist, I’m totally against them.

Collins: White nationalist is racist

Tuberville: That’s your opinion pic.twitter.com/hT5wTPkCO4 — Acyn (@Acyn) July 11, 2023

This is what happens when you elect wholly UNQUALIFIED people to some of the highest offices in the land. He has no clue about anything. He should go back to coaching football, but I don’t think there are any schools that would hire him.

I’m still fuming over his holds on military promotions because the DoD is providing travel funds for troops who need to travel for abortion care. NOT paying for abortions, just travel. I am so sick of this “holier than thou” Senator inserting his religious beliefs into his legislating power. It may be his PERSONAL belief that abortion is wrong, but those who espouse those view generally base it on a religious view. And we all know there is supposed to be a wall between church and state.

Chuck Schumer is demanding he apologize… I wouldn’t hold my breath on that.

x Schumer on the Senate floor on Tuberville: "The senator from Alabama is wrong, wrong, wrong. The definition of white nationalism is not a matter of opinion ... he is fanning the flames of bigotry."

Schumer goes on to call for Tuberville to apologize for his comments on CNN. pic.twitter.com/c5pipzOMVJ — Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) July 11, 2023

Non-apology apology… as usual from this crowd. “IF Democrats say...” is doing a lot of heavy lifting. It’s NOT a definition from Democrats, it’s a definition recognized by everyone. White nationalists are racists.

x Tuberville: I’m totally against racism. If the Democrats want to say that white nationalists are racists, I'm totally against that, too. pic.twitter.com/3wOqwc1W2I — Acyn (@Acyn) July 11, 2023

This is just the tip of the iceberg of all that’s going on. We have Jack Smith closing in on Sydney Powell, Mike Flynn and Rudy Giuliani; Eastman facing disbarment, Lin Wood surrendering his law license, E. Jean Carroll answering Trump’s countersuit, and, of course, all the things going on in the DOJ documents indictments.

I hope that gives us enough to chat about today. I’ll try to stop in but I am swamped with work since I was gone for 10 days.

Chat away!
