Price increases for over 3,500 items, mostly kinds of bread, to go into effect July. (Asahi)
In July, foods including types of flour such as wheat and pancake mix, types of bread, and kinds of packaged rice, spices, and types of drinks will have their prices raised. According to Teikoku Databank, 3,566 items will have their prices increased in July and out of these, 44% w were kinds of bread at 1,578. This is the 5th time this year that over 3,000 items had their prices raised in a single month and there is also a possibility of another month like last October in which over 5,000 items have their prices raised. Meanwhile, there will naturally also be nearly 1,000 food items that will fall in or remain at the same price, etc. by the end of the year.
