Thoughts on a Tuesday afternoon [1]

Many Trump voters (maybe not all) are actually willing to kill any of us that supported Joe Biden in 2020. They didn’t get their way in 2020 because just enough of us showed up to vote, and they are still pissed about it. They simply weren’t able to suppress enough of the vote. They don’t like the kinds of people that voted for Joe Biden, and they think they are somehow better than all of us, and that they should get a bigger say, even though there are more of us than them.
They legitimately lost the election, and they can’t accept that and or even try to win over a few more people to their side for the next election. How is anyone supposed to try to compromise with or appease these people? We have turned into 2 different countries being forced to share the same country together. Very little or nothing will break them from it, and I won’t waste a lot of my time and energy trying. I will try to be as polite and respectful as I can, and be a voice of reason, but I also have my limits. I have to keep my distance. My tolerance level for any type of bigotry is very, very low.
Unfortunately, a few people in my family and social circles are still MAGA/ Trump supporters. I also have tried to raise my voice, and that hasn’t been easy and I’ve been misunderstood and actually lost some friends over it.
I’m anti-fascist and anti-authoritarianism and pro-democracy to the core of my being. Why is it so radical to think that everyone should have an equal say, no matter what city or state they live in, or the color of their skin, or how much money they have? Or where they worship, or not?
I want to build a future America based on scientific advancement and compassion for others on the margins of society. A chance for all of us to succeed and live meaningful lives. Donald Trump can’t provide that. He is a criminal and belongs in prison, and I am tired of waiting! I’m so beyond tired of his selfishness and mean-spiritedness and mindless insults. Trump and McConnell set us back by at least 50 years, and he still hasn’t admitted that he lost in 2020. I’ve certainly never seen anything like this in my lifetime.
I believe we our side can still win, and we will. It’s not going to be easy, but I remain committed to doing everything I can to ensure another victory in 2024, and that Trumpism will finally be gone for good. There is a better way.
