Elon is not doing too well these days. When he bought Twitter in October, America got to see the dark side of Elon Musk. His apartheid upbringing really came out with his insistence on platforming white supremacists and neo-Nazis. He invited back the worst of the worst who were banned for good reason: Kayne West, Donald Trump, Nick Fuentes and the founder of the Daily Stormer, Andrew Auglin.
Elon personally shared multiple memes attacking Jewish people, memes containing all kinds of conspiracy-laden nonsense, and a Nazi soldier. He also told his 115 million followers to vote Republican in the midterms. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Elon required engineers to make an algorithm to promote his own tweets.
Elon refused to ban Nazis because, you know, free speech. Yet Elon had no trouble banning 10 journalists who committed the unspeakable crime of talking negatively about him or Twitter. He also banned a user who tracked Musk's own private jet. What was he gonna do? Go somewhere else?
WELP, you can now track ELON MUSK’S JET on THREADS.
Millions of Twitter users are abandoning Elon’s toxic platform and going to Mark Zuckerberg’s newest one, Threads, which on its first week has amassed more than 100 million downloads. In response, and I’m not making this up, Elon Musk tweeted “Zuck is a cuck.” He also tweeted Sunday night. “I propose a literal dick measuring contest.”
Seriously. Why did some people think he was some sort of genius?
When Elon first bought Twitter, he went on a firing spree. He fired so many people that he later had to try to get many back as the site kept crashing. The problem was he was kind of a jerk about laying people off.
Their talent was of use elsewhere, Elon. At Meta. And it’s currently kicking your ass.
Musk is now in a bit of a pickle. He grossly overpaid for Twitter, which he bought for $44 billion, and used Telsa stock as collateral. Ads are down by a whopping 60% because no one wants to advertise on a site that caters to neo-Nazis.
As a result, Elon announced last week that Twitter users were going to be limited in the number of posts that they could see. I don’t remember the excuse he gave, but the reality is that he absolutely needs Google because they have most of the servers he uses, and he has been unable to pay his Google Cloud bills. He has already over-leveraged Telsa’s stock, and I just don’t see how Twitter survives this in the long term.
And I don’t care. I’m still on Twitter, but I also made the jump to Threads:

I noticed NPR made an account on Threads as well. They left Twitter because Elon falsely labeled them a state-funded propaganda outfit. Pretty soon, the only people left on Twitter will be white supremacists and Republicans; and the only ads left will be for MyPillow or Trump NFTs. They’ll have to sell a lot of pillows to make up for that $44 billion.
If you have a new threads account, please put it in comments. I would like to follow you.
