As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at, to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off Daily Kos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on Daily Kos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! I am feeling a little upset.
Maybe it’s just indigestion, from the sausage and mayo and bread I just ate.
Or, part of it may be from a fight going on, here at Daily Kos.
A battle of diaries and comments.
Apparently, more than half of those here at Daily Kos feel that overt hatred of those “others” is truly okay.
Many of us, certainly including me, feel we need to tone it down.
The true enemy is the lies that persuade them to hate us.
We should call out the lies, but make sure we love the victims of the lies.
Maybe the comments and the diaries that called for hate, got me upset.
Most of my family likes to vote for Republicans.
I will not hate them.
Anyway.
On a related note, I am getting closer to making my first YouTube video.
On my Sunday, my nephew encouraged me to get going, and make those videos.
That has me nervous, afraid I will mess it up. But, even if I mess up, I can just keep working at it, and get better. No need to worry, in advance.
Okay, I am starting to feel better now.
Thanks for letting me vent. You are my friends, and you are helping me, by letting me get things off my chest, as they say.
By the way, this month marks two years, since Tonia and I moved into this cozy apartment, in July of 2021. I just got out our lease, to see the date, and we signed it in early August. But we were working towards this move, getting packed, in late July.
Tonia was so happy. To express how she felt, she wrote, on a 15” x 21” white board:
Welcome to our happy home.
I still have that on display, where you can see it the minute you walk into my home.
Okay, that picture at the top is not my picture, but my tomatoes are starting to look like that. And, more and more of my cucumbers are getting bigger. Lots of habaneros, none of them ripe yet.
I took a nice walk, in the twilight.
Well, maybe I should get off this computer keyboard, and finish my latest pitcher of limeade tea. I have the tea and the sugar in the pitcher, stirred up. Time to add the 4 limes.
And, I need to fold and hang up my laundry. It has been sitting here for more than 24 hours.
Take care of yourselves, and each other. And eat muffins and milk. And drink coffee and tea.
And eat ice cream and chocolate.
