Russian zeal to destroy everything and anything Ukrainian extends to a fragile island off the coast of Kherson Oblast near Crimea called Dzharylhach Island, where it is reported all of the vegetation has been burned.
Why this happened is not clear. Was it intentional or did Russians cause a fire and not bother to put it out?
Either way, it’s ecocide and it threatens the future existence of the island.
All of the vegetation was burned down on Dzharylhach Island, Kherson Oblast, which is temporarily occupied by the troops of the Russian Federation. This was announced by Serhii Danilov, Deputy Director of the Centre for Middle East Studies "The invaders completely burned Dzharylhach," wrote Serhii Danilov. In the comment to Ukrainska Pravda.Life he said that during 28-29 June, a fire occurred in the eastern part of the island, where the main forest plantations are located. "It looks like there was a large-scale fire that destroyed all the green spaces in the central and eastern parts of the island," the researcher said. According to Danilov, the island was mostly covered with artificial plantations and forestry. "There were quite unique landscapes; something similar was on the Kinburn Spit, which also largely burned down. In the spring, there will be grass cover, but without human intervention, Dzharylhach will turn into a sandy island that will be washed away by water," said Serhii Danilov.

Ukraine today claimed that Russia is using Lewisite chemical weapons in the Bakhmut area.
x Russia is actively using the chemical Lewisite against Ukrainian troops in Bakhmut.

Lewisite is a chemical that has no use other than in chemical weapons.
Lewisite (L) (A-243) is an organoarsenic compound. It was once manufactured in the U.S., Japan, Germany[2] and the Soviet Union[3] for use as a chemical weapon, acting as a vesicant (blister agent) and lung irritant. Although the substance is colorless and odorless in its pure form, impure samples of lewisite are a yellow, brown, violet-black, green, or amber oily liquid with a distinctive odor that has been described as similar to geraniums.[4][5][6] Apart from its use as a weapon of war, lewisite is useless; a chemist from the United States Army's chemical warfare laboratories said that "no one has ever found any use for the compound".

Considering how many mines there are in Ukraine, it would take quite a long time using this. But whatever works.
