Fanatical Republican Extremist of the Day: Ron DeSantis- 2023 Update [1]

June 28th, 2023: Users notice that in a campaign photo from 2015, that DeSantis is so fake that in a campaign photo he used with he and his wife walking on a beach… it’s shot on a green screen because they leave no footprints on the shore . And… it’s not like there aren’t beaches in Florida where he could have taken such a photo.
June 24th, 2023: DeSantis speaks at the Faith and Freedom Coalition and claims that he was in San Francisco and the city’s “woke” ideology is what led him to see people in the streets using drugs and supposedly defecating in public . Critics respond with headlines from Florida, because… well, it’s got plenty of headlines indicating it has weirder crime issues.
June 23rd, 2023: In the face of headlines about rampant corruption of Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas taking luxury vacations funded by billionaires who had business in front of the court, Ron DeSantis states that as president, he would pick Supreme Court nominees just like them
June 12th, 2023: For the second time in the last few years, Neo-Nazis take to the streets openly in Florida, protesting outside of Disney World . Gov. DeSantis and his press office make no statements to criticize the white nationalist presence in spite of widespread news coverage.
May 22nd, 2023: Gov. DeSantis signs an anti-drag and anti-LGBTQ bill that flies in the face of the First Amendment. Predictably, a judge blocked it five weeks later , and it is almost guaranteed that it will be overturned completely.
May 20th, 2023: DeSantis is in Iowa, telegraphing a potential run for president, and is caught on video wiping his nose and then immediately clapping the same hand on the back of a man he met
May 13th, 2023: After the extrajudicial killing of Jordan Neely by Daniel Penny in New York City for the crime of “harassing people on the subway”, DeSantis hails Penny as a “Good Samartian” for the vigilante murder where he choked a man to death for fifteen straight minutes.
April 27th, 2023: Speaking in Israel, DeSantis admits his ongoing legal battle with Disney are political in nature , and that he is fighting them for being critical of him. This is stupid to admit because Disney have been arguing in court that he is retaliating against them for political reasons as a means to have his lawsuit dropped.
March 16th, 2023: As DeSantis’ name begins to be bantered about as a possible 2024 presidential candidate, many comment about how just flat out unlikable he is, with one notable anecdote being someone reflecting on being on a plane and watching him eat chocolate pudding out of a container with his fingers
October 18th, 2022: DeSantis orders a Florida law enforcement task force he created to combat “voter fraud” to begin arresting citizens . The arresting officers, on body cameras, even questioned why they were there, and all charges ended up being dropped. But the point wasn’t to catch people committing voter fraud… it was to suppress people from expressing their right to vote for fear of arrest.
August 24th, 2022: DeSantis is widely criticized by veterans’ groups after he runs a campaign ad themed after the movie Top Gun, where he puts on aviator glasses and a helmet and pretends to be a fighter pilot . (DeSantis, while a veteran, was a JAG officer, not a pilot.)
June 12th, 2022: Not content to just have signed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, DeSantis begins threatening to investigate any parent who takes their child to a drag show (in spite of said shows often being aimed at “all ages” in terms of content).
April 19th, 2022: After signing the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, Gov. DeSantis takes exception to mild criticism from Disney executives for the legislative homophobia, and threatens to take away Disney World’s tax-exempt status . He of course, was forgetting that the company would be owed billions of dollars from local municipalities if that happened.
February 8th, 2022: DeSantis criticizes podcaster Joe Rogan… because he APOLOGIZED FOR USING SLURS . Yes, he’s not critical because he said the slurs, but for saying he was sorry for it.
February 1st, 2022: After Neo-Nazis go on the march in Orlando, the press ask both Gov. DeSantis and his press secretary to make a statement, and for some weird reason… Ron Desantis won’t condemn Nazis , and instead spins the question about the unsettling protest into complaints about Joe Biden and Democrats. Because that’s his priorities. Nazis rank higher than Democrats.
January 6th, 2022: News breaks about how Gov. DeSantis let over a million Covid-19 testing kits expire without being used before their expiration date in Florida. He lies and says there was “no demand” for them , in spite of sold-out stocks in stores, and massive lines at testing sites.
October 24th, 2021: DeSantis actively tries to recruit anti-vaxxer cops refusing to be vaccinated in other states to come to Florida , promising them bonuses to come and spread disease when they should be serving and protecting.
September 10th, 2021: Ron DeSantis comes out hard as schools reopen against enforcing mask mandates in schools, as well as vaccinations for Covid-19 … meanwhile, schools are asked to enforce dress code rules and vaccinate children against over a dozen other diseases before being granted admission.
August 19th, 2021: Florida, due to DeSantis’ incompetence and stubborn insistence on not just doing nothing to stop the Covid-19 pandemic, breaks is own record for Covid-19 hospitalizations, getting just shy of 17,000 patients in hospitials with Covid-19 in a single day
June 1st, 2021: Ron DeSantis signs the “Fairness in Women’s Sports Act” , a bill targeting transgender athletes in public schools and universities to ban them from playing in any sport as any gender other than the one of their birth.
May 30th, 2021: Almost a year after she went public with the DeSantis administration’s malfeasance on Covid-19 safety and manipulation of data to minimize the death poll to try and cover up the number of deaths, Rebekah Jones is granted Whistleblower Protections
May 6th, 2021: Ron DeSantis signs SB 90, a bill aimed at targeting voting rights in Florida, and a way to help him suppress the vote to aid his own re-election chances in 2022. In a shockingly partisan move, he has the bill-signing ceremony live on Fox and Friends , beaming with pride over his anti-democratic action.
April 16th, 2021: As Congressman Matt Gaetz is implicated in a sex-trafficking ring that includes a minor, and thus, also a child sex trafficking ring, the media notes Gaetz’s friendship with DeSantis, where he referred to himself as the “Robin” to DeSantis’ Batman , as well as that a top campaign donor of Ron DeSantis, Jason Pirozzolo is implicated in criminal activity, as is one of his top administration staffers, Halsey Beshears.
December 7th, 2020: Gov. DeSantis orders law enforcement to sent a SWAT team to do a raid on the home of former Dept. of Public Health official Rebekah Jones as retribution for her telling the public the truth about his incompetent response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and during it, the officers point weapons at her children while moving through the home.
November 26th, 2020: Epidemiologists are dumbfounded by Ron DeSantis’ decision to extend an executive order barring municipalities throughout from Florida from enacting mask mandates , even as the number of infections being reported reaches their highest levels since the pandemic has started. Some go as far as to comment that the Governor of Florida is “on a killing spree”.
November 11th, 2020: Gov. DeSantis personally drafts legislation to allow Florida citizens to shoot “looters and rioters” that would apply the Stand Your Ground Defense to anyone encountering civil protesters. The bill is written specifically to also allow drivers to run over protesters who “block traffic”, encouraging right-wing terrorists to run over protesters , a crime which is escalating around the country even before his bill is proposed.
October 13th, 2020: There are levels of stupid, and then there’s Ron DeSantis. He hosts Donald Trump’s first political rally since he nearly died of coronavirus, and at the event, DeSantis is filmed maskless, high-fiving Trump supporters, and then immediately wiping his nose . He is somehow being added to his own abysmal Covid-19 statistics in spite of his dumbassery.
July 20th, 2020: Gov. DeSantis is sued by the Florida Education Association, after he tries forcing Florida’s public school teachers to go back to in-person learning during the heart of the Covid-19 pandemic . (The infection rate, which was finally coming down over the summer, immediately begins spiking again in the fall as children return to classes and become vectors.)
June 26th, 2020: Rebekah Jones, a whistleblower who worked within Florida’s Department of Health first reports that even the enormously high numbers being reported in Florida are manipulated by the DeSantis administration to hide the death toll his ignorance has wrought.
May 1st, 2020: As all public health experts are recommending social distancing guidelines and public venues remain closed to prevent the spread of Covid-19, Ron DeSantis orders all beaches to be reopened. Multiple critics compare his flippant rejection of their guidance and putting lives at risk to the Mayor of Amityville in Jaws , who refused to close the beaches for fears of angering local businesses even though a lethal threat would be present…
Ron DeSantis, also known as "Meatball Ron" is the clear runner-up right now in the GOP Primary, and amazing as it might seem... the more Donald Trump ends up in legal trouble, the more Republican Primary voters are digging in to support him, and not DeSantis, because it would annoy "the left" more. He's trapped in a pissing contest with the orange menace himself, where both will spend a few days trading insults, insinuating the other aren't as manly as they are, and trying to claim the other were more incompetent in combating Covid-19.
