The composition of the Supreme Court is decided by the White House, which is decided by Wisconsin. [1]

Abortion access. Affirmative action. LGBTQ rights. Student debt relief. The MAGA majority on the Supreme Court is on the wrong side of all these issues.
The stakes for 2024 have never been higher. Wisconsin will be key. Share this post, read on, and chip in today.
The balance of the Supreme Court comes down to which party controls the White House and the Senate. We saw how much damage MAGA Republicans did in just four years when they controlled both from 2016 to 2020. Democrats have to keep the White House and the Senate and take back the House in 2024.
In the fight for the Senate majority, there are really four key battlegrounds—and Democrats can only afford to lose one.
West Virginia, Montana, Ohio… and Wisconsin. Tammy Baldwin is a dynamite senator. But make no mistake: reelecting her will be a battle royale.
Suppose we lose West Virginia. In that scenario, Wisconsin is the likely tipping-point seat in the Senate. Morning Consult reported that, in its polling, Tammy Baldwin had the smallest net favorability (+1) among Dem incumbent senators up in 2024.
Yes, Baldwin won in 2012 and 2018. But those were both Democratic wave years when GOP turnout was tepid. In 2024, she’ll likely be on the ballot at the same time as the person who has garnered more votes in a WI election than any other Republican in history: Donald Trump.
Tammy Baldwin has a tremendous record to run on—leading on jobs, making things in America, bringing down the cost of prescription drugs, and taking point in the Senate on the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would codify reproductive freedom.
At this moment, the GOP is divided and their field is weak. So we have to use this period of time to make sure Wisconsinites know what Tammy Baldwin has done, is doing, and will do—who she is, and what she stands for. THIS is the time to define the race.
In 2022, the GOP won the Senate race here. By just 1%. Our analysis of the race points directly at the flood of GOP ads and money that defined the election before Mandela Barnes had the resources to respond. In 2024, we have to turn the tables and define the race first.
Can you help WisDems use this next year, before the GOP has an official nominee, to make sure Wisconsinites know how hard Tammy Baldwin works for Wisconsin? Can you become a monthly donor? It could determine the Senate majority.
Then there’s the White House. Wisconsin is, legendarily, the home of the nailbiter.
Four of our last six presidential races have had margins of less than one percentage point. 2024 is likely no different.
Wisconsin is, in fact, the tipping-point state in the Electoral College. Read this post to get a sense of what that means.
Last but not least: the House.
If Democrats had flipped 3,343 votes (or gained 6,686) across the 5 closest seats in 2022, they’d have the majority now. House control is absolutely up for grabs in 2024. And Wisconsin currently has two battleground districts.
If Wisconsin flips two House seats, that’s 40% of Kevin McCarthy’s margin right there. Let’s do this.
House control would be a sea change in D.C.—and Wisconsin will be one of the decisive states in 2024 about which party chooses the Speaker. So we’re doing a ton of early work now to prepare for blockbuster House fights in 24. Become a monthly donor to help?
Our number one goal in 2024 is to win.
Our number two goal is to win bigger—big enough that we don’t have a scary-late election night.
Here’s another: bigger wins mean more wins down ballot.
We’ll have enormous opportunities (and goals) in the State Legislature, too. But that’s a topic for another post. For this post, remember this: the bigger our margin for Biden, the bigger the chance we reelect Baldwin and flip House seats. A shot at a federal trifecta.
That kind of victory would be a massive, massive deal. On ensuring that Americans have safe and legal access to abortion care, for example. And on so much more.
This past week has shown that elections have consequences, in more ways than one.
And the next one could all come down to Wisconsin.
So, what are you waiting for? We’re counting on 71 people to start monthly donations before midnight. Will you be one?
