Happy Tuesday!
Or, rather, Boring Tuesday!
That’s right. I’m wishing you a boring Tuesday. In fact, I’m wishing you a boring week.
You might as well have a boring Tuesday, if I’m going to have one.
But I’m going to have a boring Tuesday because Joan McCarter won’t be here. And Joan won’t be here, because she’s got to be on alert for SCOTUS decisions getting dropped. And probably misread by the news networks.
But the reason I’m wishing you a boring Tuesday, and indeed, a whole boring week, is because I don’t want any bombshell surprises from the Court on these cases they’re still holding on to. I’d rather just have a nice, boring reaffirmation of the status quo, in most cases.
I’m a little suspicious of these reputation-restoring sensible rulings from the SCOTUS of late. I worry that they’re setting us up for something horrible, and there are still a few cases yet to be handed down that could really be that something horrible, if that’s what they’re after.
So, here’s hoping for a boring week, and that this more tempered Court we’ve seen lately thinks it still has more repair work to do.
