Looks Like There Was No Mystery in George Santos Bond Story [1]

One thing that separates us from conservatives is our ability to change our minds when we get new information. I, like many of you, was suspicious where George Santos could get $500,000 to secure his bond. Based on today’s news, my suspicion was wrong.
Both his aunt and father are New York residents who donated to Santos’ political campaign. In campaign finance records, his father lists his occupation as a painter. Preven said she worked as a mail carrier. Attempts to reach them on Thursday were unsuccessful.
Now there are going to be people who ask- how did they get this money? They didn’t—they just guaranteed they would pay in the event that George Santos flees. So then the question becomes- with what assets? Here’s my guess:
The average New York home value is $436,745, up 3.1% over the past year and goes to pending in around 22 days.
I don’t know that either of them own a home, but between the two of them it’s not unlikely. The alternative—some nefarious person just loaning them $500,000 on behalf of a house member doomed to lose re-election—seems a little too far-fetched. I know this won’t satisfy some people who want there to be more to this story, but barring some actual facts, I am going to take the L. I was wrong. There’s nothing weird here.
