Quick question about the "beautiful mind" boxes [1]

The New York Times reported last week (gift link) that Donald Trump had such possessive and strange behavior toward the boxes where he kept highly sensitive documents that aides nicknamed them the “beautiful mind” boxes.

It was a reference to the title of a book and movie depicting the life of John F. Nash Jr., the mathematician with schizophrenia played in the film by Russell Crowe, who covered his office with newspaper clippings, believing they held a Russian code he needed to crack. The phrase had a specific connotation. The aides employed it to capture a type of organized chaos that Mr. Trump insisted on, the collection and transportation of a blizzard of newspapers and official documents that he kept close and that seemed to give him a sense of security.

Trump, according to accounts, would get disgruntled once he determined that someone had rummaged through those boxes when he was not around to view or guard them.

One former White House official, who was granted anonymity to describe the situation, said that while the materials were disorganized, Mr. Trump would notice if somebody had riffled through them or they were not arranged in a particular way. It was, the person said, how “his mind worked.”

Who had riffled through them? Do we yet know? Who got the brunt of his anger?

And does this mean that Trump was aware at least of the possibility of unauthorized persons having unfettered access to those documents when they were out of sight? It would appear he clearly had some idea of the risk, if he felt that some docs had been put back out of precious order by someone with grubby hands.

He probably became incensed about the boxes because he’d already in his mind transferred ownership of the documents to himself (so his anger would be about people disrespecting his property). But disregard that. He knew that outside eyes had access to the materials within. Whether or not anyone actually did or if that suspicion was just the paranoid machinations of what remains of Trump’s conscience, we can deduce that he was aware of the lack of security.
