Music of 1989: I post a few songs, you post a lot! [1]

First thing, I want to recognize the life and recent death of CameronProf, aka BFSkinner, aka Jeremy. He is the one who taught me to post only a few songs, and let you, my commentators, fill the comments with so many more songs. He often posted diaries asking everyone, “What is your favorite song that has (X) in the title?” (Or, that is about “X”, etc.) He always got a big response. He died last Wednesday evening, and was buried Friday. His method builds a better sense of community, and saves a lot of time and effort on my part. I am grateful for his idea, and I sent my condolences to his family, in the comments of a diary by his brother, that was on the trending list a long time.

Here is the link to my list of songs:

Here we go!

Guns N’ Roses, at number 74:

Is this in the dictionary, under “hard rock”?

Tears For Fears, and number 58:

Yes!

I had forgotten how much I liked that song!

So nice.

Bobby Brown, at number 48:

His jacket and his dance moves remind me of MC Hammer.

Bad English, at number 34:

Oh, yes! This song makes me cry!

This song applied to my first wife, Pam, who died in 2008.

This song applied to my second wife, Tonia, who died in March of 2022.

I suppose now this song applies, in a gentle, spread-out way, to all my family, friends, and neighbors. Each one gives me a little help, and all together, I am okay. I can face the world. Thank you for coming here, and clicking, and posting comments. It all helps me.

Paula Abdul, at number 30:

Hey, nice and fun! Those small children in the video are so cute! Nice to cheer up, after crying.

Roxette, at number 17:

Turn it up! (Unless doing so would disturb your neighbors!)

I love it!

Richard Marx, at number 11:

Such a nice, smooth love song, about long distance love.

Paula Abdul, at number 4:

Back in the day, I was at a Pizza Hut, and I put money in the jukebox, and selected that song, to play three or four times in a row. The machine refused to play the same song, back-to-back, over and over. But this song is what I wanted, over and over again!

Okay, here is the link to the list again:

Hugs!
