Covid-19 Circles of Hell -- June (Final?) Update [1]

With the global death toll from Covid now approaching “just” 2,000 new deaths per week (down from 10,000 deaths per week at the time of this report’s last update back in February), it does look like the pandemic that has afflicted most of the planet for the past three and a half years is finally on its last legs. In what may be the final installment for this particular series, I’m covering the past 18 weeks where all nations (plus US States and Canadian Provinces) with a population of 250,000+ are ranked in a log-based system based on cumulative fatality rates.

To recap how this table is organized:

D/1M = Deaths per 1 million population

C/1M = Cases per 1 million population

Cur CFR = % of cumulative cases ending in death to date (Case Fatality Rate)

NN = Navajo Nation

Canadian data derived from Canada Infobase, all other data from worldometer

Note that an ever-larger number of countries are no longer bothering to update their pandemic stats, and a number of others (particularly China and North Korea) bear little or no relationship to reality at all.
