Republicans on TV or in Congress will NEVER act better than their voters & they have no ethics [1]

I was watching analysis of the indictment and I saw a clip of Judge Jeanine Pirro claim that this should have been brought as a civil matter under the Presidential Records Act. I was baffled by this claim because I never get used to people being this dishonest, especially about such an important matter. I asked myself if she was lying or if she had simply not read the 49 page indictment. The latter makes no sense. Why would a person with a legal background go onto a television show as a legal expert and not read the indictment? Who would do that?

And then I came up with my own truism: Republicans on television and in Congress or even the White House will NEVER act or be better than their voters and their voters have absolutely no, none, zilch, empty set, zero ethics. Their voters like the republicans on television and in government only care about power.

Remember when the Hollywood Access Tape made its way onto our television screen? Numerous republicans candidates and in republicans in Congress condemned it and threw Trump under the bus. They did this because they remembered how republican voters condemned President Bill Clinton for having consensual oral sex with an adult. But that was, we learned, all make believe. It was, in a word, bullshit. They don't care about morals or ethics at all. They care about one thing: power. Quickly, republican candidates and republicans in Congress realized that their voters don't give a shit about morality and they returned to get on their knees for Trump.

Ron DeSantis is an awful, awful human being. At first, as a House Republican, he was merely super conservative. However, he became a big fascist, bigot "culture warrior" for them because of his ambition. When the pandemic hit, at first, he was conservative and followed the science in order to keep the people in his state safe. However, Donald Trump had already told his voters that COVID was a hoax, that it was hyped up for winning the election. Therefore, they got angry because they opposed the safety measures he implemented. He had closed restaurants and bars. He didn't push wearing a mask or social distancing. He didn't get his vaccine shot in public. Vaccines became available in December of 2020. Therefore, we should never see a graph that looks like the following a per Capita deaths y axis and time on an x axis with the end of August of 2021 on the far right and the absolute max, the untied peak at the far right. You see big, populous states like New York and California and their graphs are very different. They struggled and lost a lot of people in the beginning when we were all learning how serious COVID is. However, they started implementing smart safety measures and promoting wearing a mask and social distancing and closing restaurants. And when vaccines became available, most of the population got vaccinated. That's why they had fewer people dying as the length of time that the vaccines had been available became greater. And the number of nursing homes and the number of senior citizens in Florida didn't dramatically increase in August of 2021. There is one reasonable way to interpret that graph and it's really simple: Ron DeSantis is a sociopath. I published a diary with that graph. To me, that graph should be evidence of a CRIME! Rob DeSantis should be in prison. Ron DeSantis at first overestimated the goodness and intelligence of republicans. His ambition didn't suddenly appear out of nowhere. He thought that republican primary voters were decent human beings who cared about each other. Then, he came to his senses and realized that Donald Trump had already declared COVID a hoax and that the republican primary voters suddenly made COVID and wearing a mask a culture war issue because they are shit humans.

When the insurrection on January 6th happened, republicans in Congress condemned it. They thought, "Surely attacking police officers and other law enforcement officials in an assault on the Capitol and inciting an insurrection is more than the law and order republican primary voters will accept. Certainly they won't be okay with an attack on our democracy!"



However, they quickly realized that they were badly mistaken. Donald Trump had lied to them. He told them that the election was stolen, not lost, and the republican primary voters believe pretty much every word he said. Moreover, it was repeated all across right wing media including on Fixed Noise Propaganda Network and their shows like Tucker Carlson's although this cost them a lot of money. Therefore, they believed that the presidential election had been stolen. It's what they wanted to believe and what they demanded their media sources tell them. Having been indoctrinated with the big lie that the election had been stolen, then, of course, most of them would feel that the insurrection was justified.



They soon realized that republican primary voters still loved Trump and that they were not upset about the insurrection. And they immediately returned back to bowing down to Trump.



Republicans on television and republicans in government will never be better than their voters require them to be and their voters have zero character and zero integrity. We see it in the response to the Hollywood Access Tape, the response to the pandemic, and the response to the insurrection. We also see it in the response to the 49 page indictment from the Republican Party generally and from Jeanine Pirro specifically.
