Installing the Russian Fortifications Positions File on Google Earth [1]

In the comments of a diary yesterday, several people asked how to import the Russian fortification into Google Earth. I was going to message them, but there are enough folks that I figured there might be more interest.
A couple of warnings before you do this:
It can seriously slow Google Earth on loading. If you have a TON of data on there already, it can grind to a halt.
The fortifications list is incomplete. Keep that in mind when planning your grand strategy. Fortifications built before Feb 2022 are not included (which is why there isn’t much around Donetsk) and the map creator admits the list since then is not complete.
So here we go.
Open Google Earth.
In your normal internet web browser (not Google Earth), go to the “Russian Fortifications” site: www.google.com/...
Click the three verticle dots icon at the top a few inches from the left edge to pull down the menu and click “Download KML.”
When the pop-up comes up, I recommend chosing “Keep data up to date with network link KML (only usable online)” so your map keeps up-to-date. Then click OK.
The file will begin to download. When it is complete, open it. Different browsers do this differently. In Chrome, just double-click on the file. It will open in install in Google Earth as a TEMPORARY PLACES folder.
You can use it like this, but it will disappear when you close GE.
If you decide to keep it for future use, grab it and drag it into you “MY PLACES” folder.
That’s it. The icons are a little small, so I made them bigger and brighter on mine. If anyone wants to get into those details or have any other questions, message me or ask in the comments.
I will also recommend these downloads (Again, this will slow down GE.): Ukrainian Railways Map and Russian Southern District Railways Map. If you want it, go to the bottom half of the page to “hotosm_ukr_railways_polygons_kml.zip” or “hotosm_rus_south_railways_lines_kml.zip” and hit download.
