Photo Diary: Provo UT's Thanksgiving Point, Museum of Ancient Life [1]

Provo UT’s Thanksgiving Point is a complex of several museums. Each of them is very nice, and each will get its own diary.

Some photos from a visit to the Museum of Ancient Life.

For those who don't know, I live in a converted campervan and travel around the country, posting photo diaries of places that I visit.

The Museum

In the atrium, a Gorgosaurus pursues several Othnielia

The fossil prep lab. They are working on a Barosaurus skeleton.

Brachiopods from the Devonian

Cockroach from the Carboniferous

Early dinosaurs Herrerasaurus, Eoraptor, and Plateosaurus

The sauropod dinosaur Supersaurus stretches all the way across the exhibit hall

A pair of Gastonia

A pair of T rex

Utahraptor, the original inspiration for the Jurassic Park raptors

Bambiraptor, not much bigger than a turkey

A school of Pachyrhizodus, a Cretaceous fish

Elephas, a miniature island mammoth
