The Department of Justice is preparing to ask the grand jury to indict Trump on both Espionage Act and Obstruction charges related to the Mar-a-Lago classified docs case, as early as Thursday, according to reporting from The Independent.
In addition, Mark Meadows will apparently plead guilty and will testify against Trump.

UPDATE #1, from The Guardian: Federal prosecutors have subpoenaed multiple witnesses, according to people familiar with the matter.
UPDATE #2: From the NYT’s Maggie Haberman: One of Trump’s own allies has informed Trump that he’s learned that Trump will be indicted this week, which is what led to Trump’s Truth Social freak-out.

A legal affairs expert who previously served as an aide to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Wednesday suggested that Donald Trump could be behind reports surfacing this week that an indictment against the former president is imminent.
