Hey Rascal, you're not alone in this world. [1]

Mrs. Iila died. She was older and infirmed. Her daughter was placed in assisted living the next day. Those events left Rascal alone. I stepped in to rescue him.

Rascal lived with the two women since the day he stumbled out of the woods ( an injured kitten). He has only known good intentions from these kind ladies. They were not equipped to deal with a cat. Rascal taught them all he could. It is my turn to help him.

We took some random photos of the day we ( the wife and I ) brought him home. These first shots were taken June 1st.

Before we attempted to bring Rascal home.

He used the ploy of gravity and “bonelessness” to deter my picking him up. On his first day at our home, he explored all the place to avoid contact. Hiding out under the bed was his choice for 36 hours.

Behind the clothes dryer was safe for a while

The bedroom window was his first exploration (after the food & water bowl, plus the litter box).

It took 48 hours for Rascal to reach the “Lap of Luxury”. No cat can resist warm furniture that comes with manual massage and anti-itch features.

The results of trust can be immediate.

Photo taken 7 pm June 5th.

I’ll leave you with this photo of Rascal. I hope to see improvements to his expression in the coming days.

My wife is determined to take lots of photos of Rascal. I just want the old boy to have good remaining days on this earth.
