Another bulletin on John in Ghana, for those who have been concerned.
My friend John in Ghana is a street minister who helps people who come to him in desperate need. I have written about him before. For those who seek more background, please check my earlier stories.
On Saturday night be suddenly began passing large quantities of blood. On Sunday he entered the hospital and told me that he was expected to be there for three days.
I have hear almost nothing from him since, but apparently that is due to the wifi there as much as his weakened condition.
He has just informed me that he originally need three operations for hemorrhoids last winter when he almost died and only had two. This is the first I have heard of this. So is suffering from the third, bleeding hemorrhoid and needs an operation to remove it.
This explains why he has had these spells of bleeding since the original operation.
The doctor has scheduled the operation but is demanding a prepayment, which if I understand it right is about $450. That is, of course, impossible. I simply don’t have it.
I was trying to get more information from John but he suddenly stopped talking. It could be his wifi or perhaps he fell asleep again (I believe he is heavily sedated.)
I am trying to see what I can work out. Or at least what I can find out.
That is all I know for now.
