You have the ability to donate $1000 to one charity. Which would you select? [1]

A political organization? An animal welfare group? An environmental protection organization? Erc…..is there one group you would donate to, only one…. you cannot break up the donation to multiple causes.

Would you donate to a local, state, or national group? Or even to individuals, like people on Daily Kos who need financial support?

For me it is a tough question. There is a local cat shelter that, when I have had money to donate to, that I have supported. Or would I give it to the Friends of the Israeli Defense Forces? Or would I just go local and donate it to people that I come across on the Kos who are in a hardship situation? I have donated in the past to all 3, so I guess I would pick one of the above and donate.
