Warmington is the first Democrat to officially enter the race for governor of New Hampshire

The only Democrat on New Hampshire's Executive Council is launching a campaign for governor.Councilor Cinde Warmington is the first Democrat to officially enter the race. Since being elected in 2020, Warmington has been an outspoken defender of reproductive rights, fighting against Republican efforts on the council to reject public health contracts for abortion providers.Warmington told News 9 that housing and workforce shortages would be top issues in her campaign."Fundamentally, this campaign is about freedom. Freedom for women to make their own health care decisions, freedom for workers to earn fair wages, freedom for parents to send their kids to school without fear of gun violence. Freedom for small businesses, freedom for everyone to thrive," Warmington said.Warmington could face current Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig in a Democratic primary. Craig is still exploring a campaign, but she is expected to officially enter the race soon.
