KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court ruled Friday that the state's Attorney General's Office does not have the authority to intervene with the policies and decision of locally elected officials. The ruling "affirmed the broad powers of Missouri school boards to control and govern district operations," after the Lee's Summit R-7 School District filed a counterclaim asking the Jackson County Court to confirm that the Missouri Attorney General does not have the power to halt public schools' COVID-19 mitigation efforts, the district said in a release.
Now, perhaps you are wondering why the title mentions “Low Government Spending”.
In December 2021, Missouri Sen. Eric Schmitt — who was the state's attorney general at the time — sent cease and desist letters to dozens of Missouri school districts, ordering them to repeal any masking and vaccination requirements.
It’s because not only is your Missouri tax money being used by the AG to whip up the Republican pandemic denying first amendment worshipping base to generate votes, it also forces your school district tax money to fight the suits.
Votes? What votes? Eric Schmitt was planning on running for the U.S. Senate, didn’t you know? And he won, isn’t that a surprise!
Why “Freedom Loving” is in the title:
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Cole County Circuit Court Judge Daniel Green on Tuesday ruled that health orders designed to stop the spread of COVID-19 that were issued by local health departments violated the Missouri Constitution.
Now why would someone fight pandemic health restrictions?
The judge, in his ruling, found that Schmitt had incorrectly relied on a 2021 ruling by a Cole County judge that considered local health department orders to stop the spread of COVID-19 violated the Missouri Constitution. Ben Brown, owner of a St. Louis County restaurant and candidate for state Senate, was involved in the lawsuit, which was filed last year. He issued a statement saying it was time to “make masks optional, end needless quarantines of Missouri’s children and go back to living productive lives while allowing individuals the freedom to choose how and when they interact with others based on each person’s or family’s personal decisions.”
Of course, it’s not my fault if I pass a life threatening virus, which at the time had no treatment to you because you can’t restrict my freedom. After all, this is America!
