The House debate on the Debt Ceiling Bill in underway. Voting is expected to occur around 8:30 pm EDT.
The bill is officially known as H.R. 3746 - Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023.
What are your thoughts on this entire hostage-taking event created by republicans?
How will the vote pan out?
Will McCarthy be able to deliver 95% of the R votes? Of course not. At least 31 Rs have indicated that they won’t vote Aye for the bill.
Will Democrats make up the deficit? Will they wait until Rs have voted to make their move?
What will happen in the Senate, besides endless debate and useless amendments by Rs until the clock reaches the last few minutes of the deadline?

Democrats too will speak against the bill for all the cruelty buried in it, but in the end they will vote to pass the bill and to move on to fight another day.

Let’s use this opportunity to spread the message to the electorate — that republicans are nihilists and fascists, ready to wreck the global economy so that could take a few billion dollars away from the poorest among us while they gave away trillions to their donor class in tax cuts and who now want to give them even more. Republicans do not work for the American public, not even for their gullible and misguided supporters, who are being bled dry by the grifters at the top echelons of the party. Republican leaders are slave to their billionaire donors working for their benefit; in return they get a few crumbs, the power to divide the country and to inflict cruelty on millions of Americans.
