There is, or was a cure. A complete 100% cure.

From the time I was 6 years old I had the worst hay fever of anyone I have ever known or read about. I won’t go into the various treatments that were perpetrated on me, but suffice to say none worked. From that first breeze that carried pollen in late August or early September, I suffered until first frost. Every year. It was brutal.

In my mid-thirties I was introduced to a doctor. She was around 80. Her primary claim to local renown was that she cured — completely cured — bee sting allergies in one day. A half day, actually.

She also cured hay fever. The morning of my treatment she went into her overgrown yard in CT and gathered pollen. She made a solution and tested its potency and my sensitivity by putting drops of it in my eyes. Once she’d established parameters, she injected my upper arm, waited 20 minutes, and then outlined the reaction with a sharpie. Over the course of hours she injected me10-12 times, covering both arms with what looked like sharpie outlines of flowers. When I got home all I could do was stagger to bed.

That year I had no hay fever. None. The doctor told me that after 5 years of treatment, one half day each September, the cure would be permanent. She died after the fourth year. The cure was permanent.

She felt that the reason no other allergists used her methods was because she could only see 2 patients per day.. and only at certain times of year. She felt allergists would rather see 50 patients per day even if the weekly shots they were administering were worthless.

It might be worth trying to find someone, somewhere, who follows her method.

Her name was Dr. Mary Loveless and she was a hero in my life.

I hope you find someone!
