Vilnius had a thriving Jewish community until WWII.

A prominent feature of the city before World War II was its Jewish community, for nearly 150 years the centre of eastern European Jewish cultural life. Traceable as far back as 1568, this community comprised 20 percent of the city’s population by the middle of the 17th century. In the 18th century, under the influence of Rabbi Elijah ben Solomon, it underwent a decisive religious and spiritual growth, becoming renowned for rabbinical studies that between 1799 and 1938 produced texts of the Mishna, Jerusalem Talmud, and other works that are still standard. www.britannica.com/...

A glimpse of the Old Town:

Cobblestone streets, even.

Lithuania’s capital city has been quietly charming tourists for years, drawing in visitors with the largest baroque Old Town in eastern Europe, then wowing them with an offbeat elegance, a complex history and a cultural scene that's uniquely Lithuanian. www.lonelyplanet.com/...

Even the Old Town is a blend of architectural styles.

While the city's Unesco-listed Old Town is primarily known for its baroque buildings (of which the meticulously restored Palace of the Grand Dukes is one), a variety of styles are crammed onto its diminutive medieval footprint, from the Gothic St Anne's Church to the classical exterior of the gargantuan Vilnius Cathedral. www.lonelyplanet.com/...

The Gate of Dawn:

The Gate of Dawn was originally built between 1503 and 1522 as part of defensive fortifications of the city.

In the 16th century city gates often contained religious artifacts intended to guard the city from attacks and to bless travelers. The Chapel in the Gate of Dawn contains an icon of The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, said to have miraculous powers.[3] For centuries the picture has been one of the symbols of the city and an object of veneration for Roman Catholic, Greek Catholic and Eastern Orthodox inhabitants. en.wikipedia.org/...

And to eat?

Rich, hearty and just a little bit filling, Lithuania’s famous potato dumpling, the cepelinas (plural, cepelinai), has been the cornerstone of the Baltic country’s cuisine for well over a century. Lithuania’s national dish, cepelinai, is a delicacy…. Made from potato dough, and typically stuffed with pork and drenched in sour cream sauce, these fist-sized dumplings are best enjoyed on chilly days.... theculturetrip.com/...

Dining on these stuffed dumplings:

The Spruce Eats also has a recipe for cepelinai.

Cepelinai are usually served with a topping of sauteed onions, crispy crumbled fried bacon, and sour cream (or creme fraiche). From the YouTube description

Here’s a quick tutorial. Recipe is in the YouTube description. [1:59]:

So c’mon in the cafe and grab a cuppa...

x No trying to insult nobody, but beer in Vilnius is just better. It‘s a matter of art, class, and sass. The beer in Vilnius has all shades of amber, deep aromas of malt, and hops. If it could speak, it would tell you stories.

..and a nice nosh...

x Just had this for a light lunch at the airport. Ok, Lithuania, call it a Kibinas if you like. But it’s a pasty. A very oniony, porky pasty, but a pasty nonetheless. #pasty #Cornwall #Vilnius #Lithuania #food #travel pic.twitter.com/eQVg8CpoaD — Rae Stewart (@MrRaeStewart) May 19, 2019
