I’d like to start by saying I have no military insight to provide on the war. I find the articles by Kos, Mark, RO37, annieli, and many others very insightful. I also find much of the commentary interesting. We enjoy speculating about what Ukraine may do next. I do the same. It is interesting how deeply we’re all invested in ideas about how best to win the war. I consider this healthy debate and mostly wild speculation (guilty!).

I believe we sometimes lose the forest for the trees debating the war. I’ve seen some recent arguments over silliness. We all want to see an imperialist invasion of a sovereign democracy thwarted. I don’t write this to suggest debate is bad. Debate is the foundation of a healthy democracy. I’m suggesting we’re all generally on the same page. We’re more importantly each a small part of the unified front necessary to defeat autocracy here at home. Please don’t lose site of the danger staring us in the face.

All of that said, DeSantis campaign announcement meltdown was something special. I took pleasure until I remembered who it likely helps.
