CNN is reporting that the Hernando County school board’s investigation into Jenna Barbee—who used a subject-related Disney movie in her class—is closed. Barbee was “reminded” to get administrative approval for movies, but otherwise acted properly. It won’t matter, since Barbee resigned to look for a less fascist teaching environment in which to use her intelligence and skills. The Fascist State itself has yet to rule.
Meanwhile, a petition is being mounted to remove the parent who complained about the mere existence of gay people, a parent who happened to be on the same school board. Gosh, I hate to hear that about someone who stood up for what she felt was right-wing. We can only imagine that her daughter is not amused by any of this—or won’t be in the years to come when she realizes her mother was grooming her to be a bigot.
