Kaboom.
Mospyne is about 8 km southeast of Donetsk.
x Heavy explosions from Russian-occupied Mospyne, Donetsk Oblast. It says that an ammunition storage has been hit which would match with that explosion.
Additionally, according to the source a Pantsir air defense systems, which was supposed to protect it, was destroyed as well.… pic.twitter.com/c3natH159f — (((Tendar))) (@Tendar) May 21, 2023

Bonus points for destroying the road.
x Russians hid an ammunition storage under the highway next to the Donetsk airport. An Ukrainian drone detected it and the artillery fire turned it into ashes.

Turns out using untrained convicts has its limits.
x I think the Wagner model of using a large number of convicts mixed with professional fighters works best in dense urban terrain. It isn't as effective in open fields where commercial UAVs + artillery and machine guns are extremely lethal to unsupported infantry assaults. 2/ — Rob Lee (@RALee85) May 20, 2023

The Russians also downed 5 photon torpedoes and knocked out the warp drive on Ukraine’s starship.

Terrible shame. Terrible.
x A company of russian T-90s, which is up to 10 tanks, was destroyed by a #HIMARS strike at night.

Uh oh. If we send F-16s, the Russians are gonna stomp their feet and threaten to nuke Berlin again.
x Russian Dep FM threatened against sending the F-16s to Ukraine: “We can see that Western countries continue to stick to an escalation scenario, which carries enormous risks for them.”

Speaking of which:
x “If we all pull our weight and decisions are made quickly, I would estimate that end of September, early October, we could see the first F-16s flying in the 🇺🇦 airspace.” - an adviser to 🇺🇦 Ministry of Defense Yuri Sak said on Friday to The Washington Post

Once upon a time King Pyrrhus of Epirus fought the Romans during the Pyrrhic War. The king’s army won, but took unbelievable casualties at the Battle of Heracles in 280 BC and the Battle of Asculum in 279 BC. Hence, his name went down in history to denote a victory that is so costly that it is actually a defeat.
Which brings us to Bakhmut.
Wagner chief Yevgeny “Pyrrhus” Prigozhin claims all of Bakhmut has fallen.
He seems anxious to declare victory and leave. Politically it would benefit him if he gets credit for taking the city and the Russian army gets the blame for subsequently losing it.
x Meanwhile, Ukrainian Pyotr Verzilov published footage of urban battles in Bakhmut, indicating that fighting didn't stop for a minute.
But I doubt Russians will be announcing the capture of Bakhmut a second time, so some conclusions can be made. pic.twitter.com/ntrYmoza2u — Dmitri (@wartranslated) May 20, 2023

Storm Shadow is proving to be quite effective.
x 2. Ukraine has begun to focus on destroying rail lines supplying Russian forces in southern Ukraine.
