How the heck are you all this morning, Newdists?

I have not been online since last Saturday. I've been reading through the ghost books of Jonathan Stroud — the Lockwood Series [SLJ]. I finished the 5th book on Thursday. What a great series. The stories are based in an alternative England, where ghosts have become a problem and only children and young adults can see them.

Ghosts can kill humans.

Adult humans don’t have the capacity of seeing or detecting ghosts.

However, children and young adults up until 19 can see them. 19 being the time when the psychic’s ability begins to fade. So of course, society has developed all kinds of ways and organizations to handle the rise of ghost presences everywhere.

The rules of daily living have changed, wherein, if one sees a ghost, one should run and not let them touch. Houses have iron all around them. People get indoors right before it gets dark and stay in while ghosts roam the streets of London. The only people out are the people working for the ghost busting organizations, like Lockwoood and Co. And they are one of the smaller businesses dealing with destroying and de-ghosting areas of sudden infestation.

And now I am getting gearing up to travel next month — June — to SLC, and getting my diaries done for that month.

x I'd like to take this opportunity to pivot to an iconic US endemic we *KNOW* still exists and that is *GOING TO BE EXTINCT* in the next 30 years if we don't do something drastic, fast.
